Fried Soft Shell Crabs

Sweet, rich soft-shell crab is bathed in a light, crispy panko coating that’s been touched with Old Bay® seasoning—the ideal complement to the sweet crab. Easy to prepare, with a variety of options, this is sure to become a hit. A lovely light lunch, appetizer, or centerpiece to an al fresco dinner. Simply bake and serve!

Fried Soft Shell Crabs


Deep fry: Heat oil to 350°F and place belly side down. Turn once during cooking. Turn halfway through cooking time. If thawed, cook 3-4 minutes. If frozen, cook 7-8 minutes.

Pan fry: Cook in 1/8"- 1/4" oil in pan. Heat pan to medium-low temperature. Turn halfway through cooking time. If thawed, cook 7-8. If frozen, cook 8-10 minutes.

Oven: Preheat oven to 350°F. Spray or coat pan with oil. Place pan on rack in middle of oven. From Thawed: Remove crabs from packaging and thaw under refrigeration. Bake for 14-16 minutes, flipping half way through. From Frozen: Bake for 18-20 minutes, flipping half way through.

Soft Shell Crab (Callinectes Sapidus), Water, Batter Flour (wheat flour, corn starch, rice flour, leavening [sodium acid pyrophosphate, sodium bicarbonate], xanthan gum, cellulose gum [sodium carboxymethylcellulose)), Bread Crumbs (unbleached wheat flour, organic cane sugar, yeast , sea salt), Seasonings (celery salt [salt, celery seed], spices [including red pepper and black pepper], and paprika). Parfried In Canola Oil.
