Store frozen until ready to use, thaw under refrigeration for up to 24 hours, optionally you can thaw under cold running water if desired. Rinse shrimp before use. Shrimp can be cooked in a variety of ways, shell on or shell off. If peeling, you will want to devein as well.
Steamed: Either peeled and deveined or whole. Steam for approximately 5-6 minutes or until opaque throughout; add Old Bay or seasoning optional. Place in ice bath upon removal to stop cooking process and prevent overcooking.
Boiled: Either peeled and deveined or whole. Heat salted water on high until boiling, add shrimp and cook 4-5 minutes until opaque throughout. Add Old Bay or seasoning to water if desired. Place in ice bath upon removal to stop cooking process.
Grilling: Peel and devein shrimp, marinate in olive oil, salt, pepper, and lemon juice. Skewer shrimp, and grill 1-3 minutes on each side until opaque throughout.
Sauté: Heat the skillet on medium heat and add butter or olive oil. Saute for about 5-6 minutes or until opaque throughout (in batches if cooking all 5 lbs).
